I ended up gluing a piece of thick plastic behind the part the trigger presses onto the valve. The plastic trigger flexes too much, causing it to slip out of the place where it should have pulled. The easy solution for me was to just tape a thick piece of plastic over the whole area and cover the holes behind the trigger. As for adjusting the nozzle, I personally found it had little to do. I've found that adjusting spacing and air pressure has a much greater impact on texture. Overall, that's not bad, except for the trigger, which can be fixed quickly.
