I use them in a hose assembly to simultaneously bleed Jeep tires from a single compressor. There are 3 jaws, each of which is fixed and will not leak unlike the more common and cheaper lever jaws. I've tried single cam levers, but if the threads on the valve stem it presses against are a little too high, there will be a slight leak in the nipple. It annoyed me enough that I spent Cadillac money on it and I'm glad I did. They have a closed flow and that's important. If you get an open flow, removing one tire from the other will cause compressed air to rush out of it. If you deflate the next 3 tires, the last tire will be about 2psi less than the first. Open-flow applications are for tire gauges, not inflation. They are very well made and are the right tool for the job. Update: I've added some photos in response to a question about hose assembly. My compressor is part of a Warn Powerplant winch, but the same setup will work with any other quality compressor.
