UPDATE I have two bottles of this from Revain and the one I've used I've just discovered has no expiration date on the label. However, the second unopened bottle has an expiration date on the bottle. I've had shingles three or more times and lysine helps reduce flare-ups. after the last episode i decide to take lysine for the rest of my life. USE ONLY LYSINE POWDER which is pure lysine with no other inactive ingredients for your cat. FYI I only use this product because I give my cat pure lysine powder with nothing else for her safety. My cat has to take lysine daily because she has a very common herpes virus. I give her another formulation specially formulated for 4 cats in powder form. I made the mistake of stopping her lysine for a week and she ended up with full blown respiratory herpes virus so she was sick for a week and a half. The mistake is that it says that lysine should not be given to cats to prevent the herpes virus. For the 13 years I've had her, she's gotten terribly sick every time she stops taking lysine. cat because it's wrong. My vet agrees that she still prescribes lysine daily as a preventive measure to prevent respiratory herpes in cats.
