The threads on my original screw began to break off until the "nozzle lock" came loose completely. Once this happens, the vacuum is broken because the "nozzle assembly" is loose and not tight against the sensor. But if you're rating this product, you probably already know that. It's pretty absurd that a vacuum cleaner as expensive as Kirby could be completely useless because of a simple screw. Well I ordered this screw to fix the problem and it didn't fit (although it was the correct replacement part). The reason for this is that when assembling the vacuum cleaner, the tip of the screw is knocked out from the inside. So when you unscrew it, the now wider, flattened end of the screw will graze the threads of the "fan shroud assembly" as you remove it, leaving a wider opening. I ended up having to replace the entire "fan case" which cost about $50. I read other reviews of this screw that were successful. Unfortunately this was not my experience.
