I bought two of these feeders for my rabbits based on other reviews that they prevent rabbits from making a huge mess of hay around the living space. I was skeptical but hoped they would work like others have said and they definitely did! My two rabbits wasted most of the hay I gave them. They ate some, but most of it was scattered all over the floor where they could urinate and poop on them. And after that, of course, they won't touch it again. I put these bins over their trays and now the hay stays in the bin and the mess stays in the tray. No more mess, no more wasted hay. I can't be happier! I will mention that when I received the containers there were a few rust or dirt spots on them (not sure?). There were no other signs of wear (as if it had been used and returned) and the stains have actually been washed off.
