I'm glad I didn't listen to negative reviews. This pitcher is perfect! It alkalizes the water, purifies it, and adds things like magnesium to the water, so it's a triple threat! The jug is very easy to assemble and clean. PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! The lid is NOT removable! Without water, yes, but once you fill it up and pour, the lid stays on! The water in the filter tank does NOT seep into the treated water, the lid specially seals the tank and I haven't seen any leakage. The water isn't filtered right away, it takes a few minutes and about 1.5 tankfuls to get 1 1/4 liters of filtered water, but I don't mind! I like it. I bought one for the office and the second for home =)
