Great budget jacket or for a beginner!

Let me first say that I was surprised by the quality of this jacket. This jacket was under $100 and I wasn't expecting more than a lightweight two pocket jacket. ADVANTAGES: POCKETS! I'm a pocket nerd. Aside from the usual exterior hand warmer pockets, I'm a huge fan of that sexy lower money/ID/credit card pocket that this jacket has! Also, there is a /large/internal zip pocket on both sides, small internal pen pockets (on both sides) and a large internal pocket on the jacket body (which I discovered when unzipping). The outer right pocket has a headphone opening, loops through the jacket and a velcro flap around the neck specifically designed to keep the headphones in place, so all you have to do is disconnect your phone from the headphones when you stop! No cable clutter! This is a boon for those who can't afford or dislike bluetooth headphones/senas-detachable armor-WARM! The removable lining makes this jacket comfortable for three seasons. I'm a very cold rider so I almost always run with the liner if not hotter than 90*, this liner makes this jacket very comfortable even in the 40-50* range. - Quality construction for the price - Adjustable braces at back - Tighten button on arm to keep elbow armor in place - Not super bulky - Form-fitting. He will hug you in all the right places. Some women's clothing looks and feels like they were made just for small sizes. So as you move up to the plus sizes, the jacket sticks out in weird places and gets too tight in other places. This jacket has plenty of room in the chest and arms without that nasty bulge in the back or what I like to call football shoulders. Zipper on the back so you can attach the pants directly to the jacket. Two chest vents that actually connect with a button to keep the vents open. Towing openings on the back. CONS: Fits a little around the waist, but if you order a size up and flatten your back, it fits perfectly. The velcro that holds the earbuds around the neck is a little itchy if you don't fasten the velcro properly. The included armor isn't great, but the ability to remove it and replace it with your favorite D3O makes this a moot point. The armor that comes with it works until you can upgrade it. All in all it's hard to beat such a comfortable jacket with any type of armor at this price point. Especially if you are new to horseback riding or on a tight budget.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Very expensive
