The clock flips the hour clock twice an hour, yes there are two flips with the same number but they are out of sync. eg: Flips change to the next hour by 20 minutes. It's not loud, but you can hear the mechanism even if I'm standing 10 feet away from it in a very quiet room. I think I can fix the clock by adding something to the minute wheel that will allow the hour strikes to go down when they should, or maybe just move the gears back a bit so they sync up. I threw away the box so I can't return this piece of junk and now I have to fix it myself! Don't waste your time on Amazon looking for folding watches, buy them locally and see if they work! These clocks are really hard to make. work well and I don't think a Chinese product is enough for that.
