This key was exactly what I was looking for. When I wanted to add a second monitor to my computer, I initially used a cheaper passive dongle. This prevented the computer from booting; got nothing but beeps on the motherboard, had to manually reconnect the 2nd monitor each time. File a claim with NVIDIA who told me I need to upgrade the power supplies on my entire computer and flash a new BIOS! Luckily, some fellow players supported me and advised me to try an active key, which costs about twice as much as a passive one. This one did it! Installation order: connect when the computer is on, the computer may make strange noises. Then connect the monitor to the dongle. Customization - If you are using an NVIDIA card, you will get the best results using the NVIDIA Control Panel rather than the onboard one. Then reboot to make sure everything went through. This solved my problem 100%! My setup by the way: Windows 10 Pro 64, GTX 970 graphics card, 2 HP 27" vertical mount monitors. Thanks to the Revain community for helping me with the selection.
