This is a very useful gadget.

very useful gadget. Seems to be excellent quality. I've only used it for a quick test of its functionality, but it's pretty useful for bridging the gap between old-school and new-school tech - thanks to the fact that high-end stuff you put aside , can easily be made Bluetooth-enabled. compatible. Used to connect Kensington SD4600P USB-C Dock to an HDMI monitor

Dock has HDMI and DisplayPort connectors; My monitors don't have a DisplayPort. I originally bought a passive cable with DisplayPort on one end and HDMI on the other end. This setup didn't work and my laptop didn't read the monitor connected to DisplayPort. I regretted my decision not to use the more expensive Thunderbolt 3 dock but decided to give this adapter a try and I'm happy to report that everything works as intended. I definitely recommend this if you are facing a similar problem.

Second Monitor with Nvidia Rtx 20 Series

I got a new computer with Nvidia Rtx 2080 Super. The same dual monitor setup that had previously worked fine with a 1060 card and a 980 card suddenly stopped working. After an unsuccessful day of changing cables, monitors and connectors, I came here and found this converter. It arrived, I plugged it in and both monitors worked straight away. HDMI Monitor to Standard DisplayPort - You need an active dongle, not a passive one.

This key was exactly what I was looking for. When I wanted to add a second monitor to my computer, I initially used a cheaper passive dongle. This prevented the computer from booting; got nothing but beeps on the motherboard, had to manually reconnect the 2nd monitor each time. File a claim with NVIDIA who told me I need to upgrade the power supplies on my entire computer and flash a new BIOS!
