I wanted the fry to hide and it worked. Many, many juvenile fish are hiding here. The ends of the grass are sharp enough that adults cannot feel the middle. The young fish mostly hide under the grass. I really like how they look in the sand under my driftwood. They look like tufts of grass. So I ordered 2 more. The fry also like to hide in my Como Green Oval Leaves Emulational Aquatic Plant Decor 24" for the aquarium. They will accumulate food but when I vacuum I also suck up the little fry so I leave it they simply , accumulated food is not visible Periodically I pick up the grass, shake it and clean it before vacuuming the aquarium.I think the fry live here until they are big enough to grow larger plants with a plastic bottom visible to pull.So I half bury them in the sand or put some small rocks on top to hold them. It's like you have grass right away.
