Review on Rain-X 620161 Ceramic Detailer - 22 fl oz by Mark Marcellus

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good competitor #3 or #4

I have tried many ceramic and other quick detailing products this spring after discovering Meguiar's hybrid wax last year and exploring many alternatives for quick detailing including : -Chemical Boys Hybrid V7 (Awesome!) -Cerama Shield PBL Sio2 (OK) -Shine Armor Fortify Quick Coat (nice tricky atomizer, aimed at a dirtier car) -Mother's Ultima Hybrid Ceramic Detailer (didn't like it at all on a dark metallic car ) -Rain- X Exterior Detailer and Water Repellent (non-ceramic) is ok leaves nasty water stains after rain - Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Detailer This product ranks 3rd or 4th for me out of this whole range - different products are good for different things. Here's how I rank it: Best all rounder: Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Detailer - Easy to use, easy to apply, gives good dark rich results, hydrophobic as it doesn't stain water. Best for dirtier cars: Shine Armor. It's a very fine mist and very little is needed, but I keep pressing the fancy "on/off" button on the bottle and this needs to be addressed. unrealistically amazing and unlike anything I've ever seen. It doesn't last that long and needs reapplying, but what it does is really wonderful. Good price/general good use/good results: this product! I can only top this product on two points: 1. The gliding/gliding ability when applying is a bit weaker, which makes the application a bit more labor-intensive, but not as hard as real wax and not as "pleasant gliding". such as Cerama Shield, Chemical Guys. Hybrid V7 or Hybrid Ceramic Detailer by Meguiar but the end results are good.2. The deep shine isn't as deep as the Chemical Guys Hybrid V7, but note that the V7 is specifically for dark and dark metal cars, which is what I use it for, so take it for what it's worth. One of the advantages of this product over the standard Rain X exterior cleaner (non-ceramic) is that it doesn't leave as many streaks after it rains and dries naturally. Chemical Guys and Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Detailer are slightly better at reducing surface tension and draining water and leaving fewer stains than any other product. any of the "bad" qualities, any of the worst. Pretty decent middle ground if you ask me. Don't worry, it's recommended.
