Update: not 5 stars because the mileage is limited. I need two of these to cover our large kitchen table. still has the original batteries and we've had it for at least 6 months now and the dog is always within reach (so not just sitting still). Great! I didn't want to as others have said they have limited battery life. Well I bought ours over a month ago and it's still working. We have a large dog who likes to lick the table and steal food when we're not looking. This thing did it! Performance: This thing has a relatively small coverage area. it does not cover the entire surface of our kitchen table at the maximum range setting. For example, if I put it in the middle of the table, the dog can still easily lick the areas at the ends of the table, so we have to strategically place the "puck" where it's most likely to try to reach. Table. As a result, I can only imagine how useless this thing is up close. I wish it had more range at the highest settings, but it works well for our application.
