Haven't used the base yet but WISH the lid had a pull tab or could be hung on the wall. At the moment he lives on the microwave with the TV tray and other things on the microwave. I haven't figured out how to hang it so that it's not on a flat surface but next to the microwave. My closets are SUPER small so I don't have a lot of storage space, plus it's about having a lid nearby. I think the diameter could be a bit bigger. I don't think my plates are too big, but they don't cover the edges of the plate. I have an older Nordic stock and it was much thicker and appeared to be of better quality. As with everything else, quantity and quality decrease. I think this product works as described. The translucent lid is then formed into a handle, which can make it difficult to lift if you have a medium to large hand. Aside from the lack of a hanging option and a questionable handle, this should work for most cooks.
