Impressive technology! Perfect fit for Apple AirPort Express

I have just received this item - it has only been used for a short time. The product comes with an 11-pin .100 connector - only 9 of these pins are used. The product description says nothing about it. If I had known that, I probably would have ordered and used a mating connector for the shoe right away. I solder directly to the board. I soldered three foot 18 ga. a speaker cable for outputs, a small 2.5mm power jack and a 3.5mm stereo jack for input. I have a short 2.5mm USB power plug that I use for other devices. I hooked up an old iPod touch and a small USB battery to the amp and tested an old pair of 8 ohm Wharfdale Diamonds. Diamonds are small two-way speakers with a tweeter and a 4.5" driver. so not much bass at the beginning. The amp delivers Diamonds at a decent volume, enough to easily fill a living room. I agree with some of the other reviewers that the bass is lacking. I'm assuming the chip is rolling off the lows to control power consumption. During some basic testing I measured 2 volt spikes at the speaker terminals. I also measured about 9mV DC with the input disabled. POT works fine and presses the "OFF" button when it's completely off. This little device works great with the Apple Airport Express, which is how I intend to use it. The Express offers a USB port (for a printer) and a 3.5mm output. I connected this amp to the Express and it works great over AirPlay. I will later switch this amp to another Express I have that drives my outdoor patio speakers. The speaker is about 25 feet long, but I think a small amp will handle that load with no problem. I would recommend this little amp to anyone looking for basic musical needs. In general, I am satisfied with the chip! Just be aware that you probably won't upset the neighbors by doing this.
