I used to buy a 'cheap' plastic hamburger press from the supermarket and was disappointed. It's a lot heavier and looks well made. The size is good enough for a decent burger. Since it's well done, I squeeze it well to hold the burger together. The metal surface is very smooth, there was no problem with meat sticking to it. The kit included 50 free wax pads to separate the patties. They work very well. I was able to make a dozen burgers from a pack of Costco ground beef in less than 10 minutes. Not having to wrap the tarts by hand meant my hands were a lot cleaner. This will now be my default hamburger maker.
