Review on AO200 Amplifier Bluetooth MA12070×2 150W×150W by Kevin Elliott

Excellent integrated amplifier

I do not yet know how this device measures in scientific analysis. However, my actual experiences of intended use have proven that this amp has what it takes and more. The SMSL engineers probably still pat themselves on the back, and that's the way it should be. They apparently improved on their similar DA-9 design when it came out a few months after the previous one. This AO200 does not appear to have the reported DA-9 issues. The build quality is top-notch, although the remote control, while functional enough, is definitely not going to win any design awards. This is the same generic remote control type that you see along with all other SMSL and daughter products. I recently tested the amp for a few hours at a small family gathering outdoors and it passed the test with flying colors. Frequently set the volume above 50 and connect them to two Sony SS-CS5 sets connected in parallel. The amplifier is designed for an output impedance of 2 ohms. Sony are rated at 6 ohms and connected in parallel, their impedance has probably dropped to 3 ohms. The unit sounded great, didn't sweat, stayed ice cold and I know it could have lasted longer. I didn't want to risk the police showing up, so I didn't give my all. I had the amp's "soft clipping" setting turned on and I recommend using it that way, especially if you enjoy listening to music LOUD. If you have any doubts about the purchase, jump in immediately and buy NOW!
