Don't be put off by bad reviews. I bought it for my 11 year old daughter. I'm a medium size and it fits a very small size. It's quite roomy on it so I'd say it's true to size. She loves it and it's so cute and comfortable to look at and feel. It's a lightweight sweatshirt and it looks like it, so I don't see why people would expect it to be made out of heavy material.
