My son is 3 so I ordered 3.5 to have room to grow, he just put on some extra gym socks. We have 2 and he usually has to change his tennis shoes every 4 months. He loves the color blue so I ordered that color. This is not a girly pink color and boys can wear them without realizing they are for girls. I noticed that the boys' version has a wider sole than the girls, but I'm not sure if he just used the blue one too often, making it wider, or if it's intended for boys. Anyway, it didn't bother him. He still has narrow legs.
