Review on ACDelco Advantage 46C1107A Steering Linkage Idler Arm: Superior Performance Guaranteed! by Rick Kreutzer

Not what I expected

First of all I would like to point out that this is the first AC Delco part I have fitted to my 170k mile Ford F150 and the price was right . On first comparison, the size difference between OE and ACD is HUGE. The fitment dimensions are correct, but the OE's thickness and "beefiness" makes the ACD look like a baby. Again, I should probably bite the bullet and buy something closer to full size at a higher price point. The 2 screw holes connecting the arm to the frame are in place. The fit to the tension member is not very good. The threaded shaft enters the linkage about halfway and stops, leaving a gap between the lever and the linkage. Not what I expected. I turned it, the gap remained. Let's see if there are long-term effects. The grease nipples fit well. The general rule of thumb is: you get what you pay for.

Pros
  • Bearing design reduces end play
Cons
  • Hard to tell
