This is the perfect solution for those who go to the bathroom late at night. It's designed to turn on when someone bumps into the door. much less glaring than turning on the overhead light (especially when you're sleeping). And now I don't have to use my camera as a light source anymore. The second lamp is on a small patio table just outside the back door. It's perfect for sitting at night and not turning on the porch lights. Additionally, dogs seem to appreciate the extra help when running their errands late at night. I like the size and they are very bright for a mini lamp. I can't comment on the remote as it wasn't included. I can't rate the battery life either as I just got it. Inserting the batteries proved a mystery, however. To insert the batteries, you must unscrew and remove the cover to access the battery compartments. It was a simple but great design. All in all a very good decision. I would buy these as a gift for someone.
