Review on BIC Sensitive 2 Men's Disposable Razor, Comfortable Two Blade Shaver, Soothing Shave, Blue Razors, 20 Count by Peggy Petty

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good, but not as good as Gillette's

I have shaved with blades my entire adult life. I've tried many electric shavers over the years but never found one that gave me a close enough shave to satisfy me. So I buy Gillette Sensor2 dual blade disposable razor from 52 at Sam's Club. They'll last a full year if I burn a razor a week. These Bic Sensitive2 dual-blade razors are exceptionally lightweight and feature an ergonomically curved handle with ribbed, semi-soft rubber-like inserts for a comfortable grip. In fact, I like the grip better than the straight one, which is all Gillettes hard plastic. The clear plastic blade guard slides to the side rather than popping out, making it unlikely to fall off like a travel shaving set with rough handling. So far so good, right? But there are two reasons I dislike these Bics almost as much as Gillettes. First, they just don't shave as closely. For an anal person like me, shaving is a big deal. Second, although these Bics have a "smear strip" that supposedly provides a closer shave, I haven't found any lubrication. Gillettes leaves a thin, slippery film when I shave for at least the first three or four uses, which really makes the razor incredibly smooth. As far as I can tell, the stripes on the Bics don't do anything, meaning they "grab" more right out of the box. The performance of these Bics does not meet my high expectations, so I can only give them three stars at most. They'll probably satisfy the "average" blade user, but the Gillettes are way better.
