Climbing shoes should be tight and uncomfortable

Before I went shopping for shoes, I met with someone at my climbing wall to discuss sizing, fit, etc. This person emphasized that the shoes should fit like a glove, not necessarily in terms of comfort, but they should be snug enough without room at the toes or heels. I took that into account, as well as my old shoe sizes and Amazon reviews. I'm a size 6 for "street shoes". I ended up ordering a size 6.5 and so far so good! I found that the fit helped me on some bouldering routes that I had previously struggled with and that a tighter fit really made a difference. They are great for climbing, but not for walking. This is a great shoe for the more casual climber.
