I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of these 6.5 foot Ethernet cables, especially at the current retail price of two cables for just under $8. They appear to be very well made. The RJ45 connectors are gold plated. There is a protective rubber pad at the junction of the cord and plug to prevent it from falling apart under rough use. While no different from round cables, I think flat cables are easier to work with. They roll up neater and more compactly, and are much easier to wrap around baseboards and corners. I used one of these cables to replace a round ethernet cable that our mischievous kitten recently chewed in two. The low profile design of this cable allowed me to install it very close to the baseboard so it couldn't be touched by a kitten. Nothing is completely immune to kittens. But protection from kittens is a definite bonus! These cables are CAT7, which is overkill for my current needs. However, the technology is changing rapidly and should show promise over the next few years. Highly recommended!
