It's adorable and true to size. The problem is that the hat has too much filling so it doesn't last. It is not good for a sailor to lose his hat. You have problems because of that. The bottom of the cap should be slightly concave and definitely not convex. I have to open and repair the seam to make it work. I would never seriously consider sending my Henry to sea with this hat on. But the sailor patch is well done and if Henry grows a ponytail for any length of time at sea I'm sure it will help keep the rest of his uniform from getting dirty. .
