Perfect size for storing/freezing individual portions of soup/stew/chili/etc. My daughter went back to college. I avoided cooking some of my favorite foods because they overcook too many portions and I didn't want to eat the same thing every day for a week. I didn't have the right size/type of single serving freezer containers. These Ziploc Twist 'n Loc 2 cup containers are perfect for my needs! For freezing, they hold about 1.5 cups. I've used them for soups, stews, chili peppers, and pulled chicken. I don't warm up in it; After taking them out of the freezer, I quickly dip them in very hot tap water and place the frozen foods in a microwaveable glass measuring cup to thaw and reheat in the microwave. If I was thawed/heated in a Ziploc Twist 'n Loc, the container would be stained (of anything with tomatoes). I wash them in the dishwasher, on the top shelf. How strong are they? I have a hard ceramic tile floor in my kitchen. I accidentally dropped one of the containers while taking it out of the freezer and the (frozen) lid broke when the container fell on the floor. So be careful when you touch them when they are frozen! Great storage solution at a very reasonable price.
