I bought this recorder primarily for recording live music and rehearsals. I also think it could be useful for client meetings where it's important to document what I'm saying. So far I've used it to record acoustic guitars with the built-in mics and I have to say I've been amazed by the crisp and clear recording. what it did. There was no distortion and the sound reproduction was flawless when played back through good speakers. I was also surprised because there seems to be some sort of automatic level control built in. The sound quality and level stayed the same whether I was 3 or 8 feet away. This device has plenty of storage space and supports SD cards, so unlimited storage space is available. I'm not a big fan of menu driven devices, but this one is pretty simple and easy to navigate. Another favorite problem of mine is the tiny writing on LCDs. I can't figure out which human evolutionary mutation could actually read this tiny script, but I certainly wasn't. But that's the case with most of these micro devices, and I agree that I'm paying for the convenience and good sound quality of this recorder when I squint and strain tired eyeballs. The screen has a built-in backlight that can be turned on or off, as well as voice activation and a few other thoughtful options. There's also a segmentation option to help you locate the good parts of a long recording, and the only thing I'd like to see in the next model is the ability to sound tone on tone (overdub). Then it would be perfect! Great money deal and a must have for any musician.
