I bought this gauge (Astro 3018) based on a friend's digital gauge (same one) he had for over 2 years. I have used and loved it! I then bought my own in April 2019 and it was fantastic for three days. On the fourth day I wanted to use it and it was dead. Okay, I found that the batteries that came with it were dead so I put in new batteries. Great, it's working again! Two days later. dead! This lasted for over a month while trying different brands of new batteries. Duracell, EverReady, Rayovac etc cost me a fortune! When I finally got fed up, I called Astro and explained my problem. They said send it in for repairs. I sent it back (at my own expense) and got it back a few weeks later in a padded envelope, although it should have been in the box (as I sent it) to better protect it. I put the device back into service and again on the second day. he was dead! I replaced the batteries again with new Duracells. After three days . DEAD! I contacted Astro again and explained my problem. The lady on the other end of the line spoke indifferently and informed me that they had already replaced the 'head' of my device. I explained that I had the exact same problem. She told me to send it back. WHAT? Send back at my expense? Yes. additional $15.00 for return shipping. I wanted to talk to someone else. She transferred my call to the handyman and I left a message. I then called back and was directed to the product manager, where I left a message again. After 2 1/2 weeks I still have not received a call back. Screw it, this thing goes in the trash and I'll buy a different brand. Be warned. Astro is another BS company! UPDATE (29/08/2019): I threw my useless Astro 3018 in the trash a long time ago and bought another brand that actually works. The new one isn't digital, so it's not as quick or easy to use, but it works just fine. The reason I am updating this review is that I received an unexpected package in the mail tonight. as you might have guessed, the brand new Astro Digital Inflator #3018. Why? I can only guess because no one bothered to contact me or answer my previous calls. I can only imagine that Astro saw my negative review and was ashamed to correct it. I will say that, I would be impressed if they would contact me and let me know their intentions. Maybe that $65 item didn't cost me the extra $75 and many hours of agony. I'll try this new one and see if it continues to work and update again, but my faith in this product is weak, as is my feelings for the unlucky folks with a lousy attitude who answer Astro customer service calls and do repairs.
