I lived to meet 4 before this one broke. I punched holes in the back of the back cover of my ALUMINUM Macbook which is SUPER THIN so it shouldn't have been a problem. Snaps right onto the hinge as stated by other reviews. Do yourself a favor and spend $40 on a quality punch.
