15 Genesis Coupรฉ: Track Usage Review

First of all, the difference in braking performance day and night is obvious and that they are absolutely worth the money. The brake dust is just as good as the stock pads, and installation was relatively easy. I did a few laps around the track and hardly lost the brakes. Mind you, we're talking about decelerating from 60+ mph in a matter of seconds multiple times throughout the day. They have withstood the beating I gave them and after a month they are working just as well in normal street use. The burn-in process takes some time though, maybe 1k+ for me. They also squeak, but you get that with any pad. As long as I can stop for a dime, I don't care how bad it is. The REAR pads may need to be CUT on the sides to fit the caliper. After doing my research, it turned out that this is a common problem and EBC isn't too concerned. It's an easy problem to solve, whether it's 20 seconds on a belt sander or some elbow grease and sandpaper or a file. Be careful not to shave too much. Use your old pads as a template and see how much you need to shave. They should glide with little effort, but shouldn't glide effortlessly in my experience. In short, absolutely great pads, but -1 star due to the need to modify the pads, which should just about be possible. crashed into my brake caliper right from the start.
