This type of broom is used in many countries around the world. It's very different from what most Americans are used to. The handle is a work of local art, as is the rest of the broom. Straw fibers are inherently quite thin, so a broom is best for picking up light things like dry leaves. The broom does not move heavy objects such as fallen food leftovers. For a totally practical all-purpose broom I probably wouldn't choose this one, but for the combination of beauty and local craftsmanship it's a winner.
