I use this Pedco Ultrapod, which can be hand-held, placed as a table tripod, or attached to a railing or pole with Velcro, with the Ulanzi ST-03, a cleverly designed all-metal mount with screw-on adjustable jaws that securely holds your phone. This combo complements my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 with the Otterbox Defender rugged case for desktop video chat sessions. (The Ulanzi ST-03 also allows you to mount a compatible LED light source on top with cold shoe grommets on the inside of the upper arms. Please note that the adjustment screw may affect the specific depth required to mount some lights on the shoe.. ) Very lightweight yet durable, the Pedco UltraPod can be discreetly attached to a branch, post or railing with the attached Velcro strap for hands-free video recording. As with any of these devices, care must be taken not to drop your expensive equipment. This isn't a long "selfie stick" of course, but it can be used as a grip to attach a phone/camera.
