Looks like the seller was giving advice that he or she has not tested. Although it is possible to detach the sensor from the 4 fixing plugs and place it on the floor, the pump will not work in this case! The pump only works when the sensor is in one of the 4 mounting holes. This is also in the manufacturer's instructions. It's a waste of time if the seller keeps making false claims and misleading people like me into buying the pump with false promises. This is a powerful good pump but it will only start pumping when the water level is high enough to reach the sensor located in the bottom control plug.
