This is the latest DOCSIS standard so I bought it. It had decent speeds for what my ISP advertises, and dual-band for Wi-Fi transfers is fine. However, I found that this router does not have a bridge mode, which is recommended when upgrading to a mesh router system. Rather than having this router "compete" with the mesh, your mesh's instructions will tell you to put the original router in bridge mode so that all signals work together. I used to be a grid skeptic, but now I'm a convert. Since I couldn't find this setting in the 10.0.0.1 panel, I contacted ASUS Support, who sent me instructions on how to connect another ASUS router. It didn't help. The point is, if bridging is important now or in the future, this router may not be for you.
