Review on πŸ’» Optimized Samson LTS50 Laptop Stand (SALTS50) by Nick Singh

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good and bad. Not that bad.

This stand should work for my purposes. There are 3 shortcomings that I spotted right away, but I think I can work around them. Pros: * The top I mounted my Acer Aspire E15 E5-575G on has the perfect amount of space with some extra room all around. * Very strong construction and wide heavy-duty base. * Easy to tip and hold well. Clamp too loose to hold or prevent rotation. * A sticky pad for the top would be great if it fits the entire surface of the top. At 7 1/4 x 11 inches, it's large enough to tightly seal the vents in the bottom of my laptop, as my laptop's rubber feet don't even touch it, so my laptop rests on the mat. I can cut the padding into 4 smaller sections just to sit on.* The laptop platform has front and back edges for added liquid protection, but the front edge is higher than the back. This might make sense to a lot of people, but for me I have a front SD card connector that the higher lip blocks access to. If I still can't access the ports after placing the footpad pieces, I have to take them apart and then reassemble them by rotating them in the opposite direction to access the port.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • I'm nervous
