but i'm not happy. I might have a lemon

I'm looking for a stand that my teachers could use for a laptop or iPad during class. The pedestals are too big. We received these small computer desks but they are really flimsy. I had high hopes for this stand based on the reviews, but I am not satisfied. Maybe I have a lemon? The construction feels solid and the quality was good. It was easy to assemble (only two parts). Reasons I don't like this stand: 1. It's too flimsy 2. The clamps (see my attached photos) don't really do much. The rod…

Pros
  • Beautiful construction
Cons
  • Incredible piggy bank

Good and bad. Not that bad.

This stand should work for my purposes. There are 3 shortcomings that I spotted right away, but I think I can work around them. Pros: * The top I mounted my Acer Aspire E15 E5-575G on has the perfect amount of space with some extra room all around. * Very strong construction and wide heavy-duty base. * Easy to tip and hold well. Clamp too loose to hold or prevent rotation. * A sticky pad for the top would be great if it fits the entire surface of the top. At 7 1/4 x 11 inches, it's large enough

  • Acceptable

Reliable with some extra features

I bought this to support my Mackie Mix Series Mix12FX -Watt 12 channel mixer which it gets along with no problem. What impressed me the most was the design. I used a music stand with the tray perpendicular to the floor and it worked but wasn't as stable as this stand. I also looked at a few other brands but most were cheap. Here are a few things that make this model stand out: First, the quick-release mechanisms and not the crappy grips used on every other stand I've tried. Second, if you're…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

This is a solid product, well built and of good quality. The tripod legs can be adjusted to either a narrow or wide base, the adjustable shaft has a pin for added security, and the top shelf has a half-inch protrusion on one side and about a quarter-inch on the other side (if available). you like). Remove the four nuts and swap the top direction, which might be better for slanted use with a thin ultrabook). It would also make a good music stand or conductor's stand - it would easily support a…

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Nothing

Reviews of this laptop stand are *everywhere*. Just got mine and thought I'd fix a few things: The picture in the listing showing it being 47 inches at maximum extension when the tray is flat is correct. Note that this is one inch less than 4 feet. The product's textual description of being dropped from a height of 4.5 feet is incorrect. (Well, if you tilt the tray so it's perfectly vertical, it's 4.5ft tall, but it's also clearly useless.) - For reviewers saying the center clamp is loose and…

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Useless features
