but i'm not happy. I might have a lemon

I'm looking for a stand that my teachers could use for a laptop or iPad during class. The pedestals are too big. We received these small computer desks but they are really flimsy. I had high hopes for this stand based on the reviews, but I am not satisfied. Maybe I have a lemon? The construction feels solid and the quality was good. It was easy to assemble (only two parts). Reasons I don't like this stand: 1. It's too flimsy 2. The clamps (see my attached photos) don't really do much. The rod slides easily even when clamped. The top clip has an extra pin which I believe is just for extra protection. When I remove the pin the entire bar slides down under its own weight. The bottom bracket is the same. Do not hold the bar (even if there is nothing on it but a tray). If this is normal behavior then why do we need clamps at all? The wobble is at the location of the top clamp. It wobbles so much I would never put anything on a tray that wouldn't fall on the floor. So I hope I have a lemon. For other happy reviews, I'm surprised. I am sending this back and trying to replace it. I will update my review after this happens.

Pros
  • Beautiful construction
Cons
  • Incredible piggy bank
