Great idea but needs tweaking to work effectively.
Absorbs a lot of water, but when fully loaded restricts airflow and expands sponge material. I had to add a block of wood between the plastic body of the wick and the front of the humidifier to keep the airflow from pulling the wick to one side. Slows airflow and increases draft resistance. May or may not put extra strain on the humidifier fan motor, but will definitely slow down evaporation. Using sponge material is a great idea, but you need to find a way to improve airflow.
