Makes 15 perfectly square cubes. They are slightly larger than a regular ice cube (maybe 1.5 to 2 inches) so are great for ice chilled whiskey or similar. That's probably not what you want to throw in the blender. Silicone stays flexible even in the freezer, making it fairly easy to remove. Just bend the "tray" and slide them out a bit. Once the top is off, you can somehow pull them out if they're still stuck. But it's not a problem. Getting perfectly clean ice cubes takes a little work. You can put them in the freezer in a small insulated fridge - if you slow down the freezing process you'll get nice clear ice cream. The silicone is smooth and very easy to clean. Plus, it's a great way to freeze fruit. Juice. If I make a ton of pesto in the summer/fall, I also freeze it in these cubes for easy portioning later.
