It is very difficult to put on when you are recovering from a serious ankle injury. I just took off my shoe and the podiatrist recommended these braces to me instead of my insurance charging $100 for a similar version. It is a great brace when worn. but it's difficult to put on and take off if you can't point your toes. There are plastic inserts (not too thick) sewn into the sides that feel nice and snug around the ankle.
