Got this from a micro center to use as a second laptop monitor. I would classify the picture quality as very good (especially via HDMI or DVI inputs). The maximum resolution is 1920x1080, the maximum refresh rate is 60Hz. The image is slightly brighter (although this can be toned down) and the colors are quite vivid. The contrast is very good, there are no artifacts (movements, shadows, bumps, etc.) and the matte (anti-glare) screen coating allows it to be used even in bright light. Text (even for small print) is legible and very well defined. Viewing angles are almost the same as IPS panels. However, the panel used for this monitor is not IPS (it uses Vertical Alignment (VA) technology, so it's better than older Twisted Nematic (TN) panels, but not as good as IPS). The picture is also very good via VGA, but perhaps a little less clear than via the digital inputs. Physically, the monitor is surprisingly light for its size, and the large round desktop stand and stand are a good weight (it can also be wall-mounted with a standard 100mm VESA mount). Aesthetically, the monitor looks very good (narrow glossy bezel, very thin, etc.) and much better than I expected given the price (After Christmas Sale: $135 plus tax). Now note that while this monitor has an HDMI input, this monitor does not have speakers (or any audio in/out of any kind). Overall a great monitor for general use - 5 stars.
