I bought this collar on the recommendation of a trainer. I've used it twice (after testing it myself and trying it out under supervision). The first time I noticed reddish spots where the knots touched his neck and he seemed quite shy. I thought maybe it's just too tight or too long. I stopped using it within a few months. But then I thought I should try again, for a shorter period of time, fully supervised. The second time I was outside with my dog, he tried to bark. I've had it on settings that start at the lowest level and then gradually increase. His bark turned into a scream. A scream that seemed to go on forever but lasted 1 to 2 minutes according to my friend as my dog thrashed and panicked in fear. I couldn't take the damn thing off of him because he'd been fighting so hard to get rid of it. Then, after that long scream, I'm guessing his brain shut down as his body went rigid - motionless as a board, barely breathing and eyes bulging. It's been 6 days since this happened and I'm struggling. convince him to leave his cage. He screams in fear when he sees his leash. He pees when I try to get him to go outside. As soon as I take him outside, he's clinging to me, shaking terribly, and trying to get into my arms. My dog weighs 10.5 kilos. This device is suitable for dogs over 8 pounds. NO, THAT IS NOT SO.
