This is the only fixer I have ever used but it works perfectly every time. Also remember that the fixer can be reused and refilled in smaller batches to keep the mix fresh in a separate bottle. So one of them should last a long time. See the Ilford website for details. If you really want to maximize the life of your fixer you should also use an Ilford stop bath as it neutralizes the developer a little better. Again, this isn't essential, but if you're really picky about your chemicals, this is the best workout.
