Received my box 24 hours ago and was excited because I also received the tea I was planning to store in it. When I unpacked the box (which was in a sturdy cardboard box) I found that it was shrink wrapped. I removed the foil and the box had a terrible smell. Today, after 24 hours of standing with the lid open, it still has some odor, although not as strong. I definitely don't want to put my tea bags in there because I'm afraid that they will spoil the taste. The rest of the box looks good, it seems well constructed and solid. The individual compartments seem spacious enough for individual tea bags but as I said I can only look at them rather than place the actual tea bags inside to check the dimensions. I hope the smell goes away soon because otherwise the box seems to be just what I need. In the meantime I have lots of loose tea bags on my counter in a cloth bag which is difficult to disassemble and looks sloppy as the wooden box was unusable when it arrived.
