This Hearing Impaired Says Yes to Sonic Boom!

Most Sonic Boom and Sonic Alert clocks wake fast sleepers with no problem. However, I have hearing problems and without hearing aids I can't even hear a normal alarm when I'm sleeping because of the high-pitched tone. My phone's alarm clock is also not audible. I MUST have a watch that is not only loud but also has a variable tone because my type of loss is high frequencies. If the watch or other device makes a high-pitched noise, I can't hear it (shoplifting, microwave ovens, cat meows, etc.). I had a Sonic Alert The Skull with Bone Crusher bed shaker and it was great but it broke for a year and had to get a new one which broke again after about a year of not too much constant use. This time I decided to buy Sonic Bomb with Super Shaker - SBB500ss. To my surprise, Revane says I bought this watch in 2010! I have no idea where they went or what happened to them, but I bought another one anyway. This watch is very light and does not take up much space. It has a large display and a backup battery. It has volume and tone controls, which is an absolute must for me. I set it to the lowest note and I can hear it perfectly. I also turn the volume up to maximum, which would probably startle a person with perfect hearing, but doesn't bother me when I hear it other than knowing to get up. There are nice features like the ability to set the snooze time from 1 to 30 minutes and choose the alarm duration from 1 to 59 minutes. I set the snooze time to 5 minutes and the alarm time to full time. I can always turn it off earlier. The clock setting is slightly different. You can press a button to make time go faster or slower. That means instead of setting the hour and then the minutes, you have to press a button and let the clock cycle through each hour and minute. But it's very fast, and when you get close to the time you want to set the alarm, switch to the slow button and get it right. No problem, just different from the norm. The clock has a bar at the top that flashes red and other indicators that do the same when the alarm is off. It has a different signaling scheme. It beeps three times, then stops and then repeats until you touch the sleep bar or turn it off. Other clocks will beep continuously until turned off. This doesn't affect the watch's ability to wake me up, but then again, I'm just so used to the skull that I had to adjust to the new alarm pattern. The shaker is effective. I usually put it under my pillow or pillowcase when I use it. I feel it very well and even hear it because it has a pitch that my ears pick up. I usually just use an alarm clock, but when I NEED to get up I use a shaker and an alarm clock, and I also set a quiet vibrating alarm on my wrist just to be safe. This alarm clock is loud, but not as loud as the Skull. . It's certainly loud enough for heavy sleepers and even for people like me with hearing loss. Setting an alarm, a shaker, or both is as easy as pushing up a button on the side of your watch. This watch is a good choice for those who sleep well and have hearing problems. Even if you don't hear the alarm, the shaker will wake you up. Light is a plus, especially if the room is dark or gloomy. I like watches but I'm not sure about their durability. I guess time will tell but for now I'm sure it will only wake me up with an alarm clock or a shaker. If you want a loud clock with an adjustable sound, this is a good choice. The ability to adjust the tone is of great importance for people with hearing loss in both high and low tones. I cannot hear the clock at maximum volume when I turn the tone/pitch to the highest level. That's beyond my ability to hear like birds. But even the lowest note is enough to wake me up from a deep sleep. I'm giving 4 stars because the skull was a little louder and I think the way you have to set the watch is a little more work than setting the hours and minutes separately. But these are small things compared to all the good things about this watch. It will wake up almost everyone!
