Review on πŸ‰ Ultimate Chef'n Scoop Troop Melon Baller and Fruit Scoop Set: Your Perfect Kitchen Buddy by Michael Long

A handy kitchen tool that makes enjoying summer fruits easier.

For me, melons are simply a part of summer and this little tool makes enjoying them even easier. I bought it specifically for two metal hoops they call scoops, although they're actually best for separating the skin from the pulp. It's not very useful as a shovel to pick things up and hold them up. For cantaloupe and honeydew melon, which we love, I cut the melon in half and then use an appropriately sized "scoop" to separate the seeds from the flesh and pour out. Then I cut the melon into slices and use a "shovel" to peel the skin from the flesh. It takes a bit of patience and practice to line up the scoop and wedges so there's no excess pulp left on the outside edges, but otherwise it's much faster, easier, and more intuitive than slicing the skin with a knife. I've also used this tool on mangoes and avocados with good results. I don't normally use a melon press as I prefer chunks, but I expect it will work adequately. A very useful tool that I use several times a week during the summer.
