I bought this because I didn't want to bolt the roof on my truck, we've all heard stories of water leaks and mold. If you're like me; You are looking for an alternative. This product won't cut it, the magnets are too weak to mount something tested for wind, shock, vibration etc. PLEASE do yourself a favor and consider other options. Magnets are a bad idea. I did a test run and my roof, like most, has a slight curve. This prevents an optimal distribution of surface area to grip the magnet with full force. As mentioned, the magnet is already a lot weaker than I expected, so with the slight contour of my roof, there's no chance this will work. Difficult passage of people.
