As soon as it arrived I pocketed it and let it charge for a bit. I was nervous because I held the power button down for 3 seconds like the instructions said and nothing happened, but I found that it doesn't turn on while charging. It fully charged in under an hour and turned on as soon as my little one went to bed. I've only used this toy once so far, but I already like it better than my previous one. The last one I worked well with for a couple of months then went from a low hum to a full sized lawnmower noise one day. Since I live in a basement apartment and usually "play" at night after my child has gone to bed, I was a little scared. Right now this one is even quieter than my previous one and is sturdy, not to mention it's half the price. Assuming I do what I did last time, I will definitely buy it again.
