This is the first stud finder I've bought so I don't have a comparison but so far I'm happy with it. He spotted the wooden posts very carefully. I didn't have time to hang the TV on the wall. I'm not a DIYer, so I really appreciate the accuracy and ease of use of this tool. Switching between modes is very easy, there are two buttons; The front one, which turns on the scanner and is used to switch modes, and the button on the left to calibrate the scanner. I like that it has multiple scan modes and also shows you where the AC power cords are behind the wall. I bought this spike finder based on the reviews and going back and forth looking at the pros and cons and I'm glad I did. It's accurate, easy to use, finds electrical wires and saves me time. It also comes with a 9V battery (not found in many other products) so you can start using it right away. I hope to be able to use this tool for many years to come.
