Do yourself a favor and buy a Dyson humidifier or a cheaper portable humidifier. I bought a couple of cheap Revain humidifiers for $20-$40 and decided on a more expensive one for my houseplants. I love the sleek design of this humidifier, the tank capacity, the moisture meter, and the hot and cold air options. but none of them work. The design is cool and I like the remote control, but it sounds and feels like cheap plastic. The humidity meter works until you turn on the humidifier, and then jumps from 50% to 89% humidity because the sensor detects too close to the outlet. Therefore, you cannot use it to maintain a specific humidity level or turn on/off automatically. Even if I have it on low-medium or high, it only detects moisture leaking and keeps turning on and off. Hot and cold options seem to be the same, if I don't understand what that means I think it's broken? I also didn't notice any difference in humidity in the room I kept it in. I live in a very dry region and I often get nosebleeds from dryness in the house, so I thought, okay, forget the houseplants, I'll just leave it at that. in the bedroom because of my dry nose. It doesn't help at all. I chose a $40 humidifier that I used to buy because it's so much smaller that I can keep it close by and take it with me wherever I go. It also fills up quickly with a water bottle and lasts 12 hours. I'm still very disappointed because it looks really cool and I thought it would work better. I'll probably return it and either upgrade to a Dyson humidifier or stick with my cheap $40 humidifier. Very disappointing! :(
